As speculated, Dabo Swinney announced on Monday that Kyle Parker will be the starting quarterback on September 5 against Middle Tennessee State. Swinney also mentioned that Willy Korn will play against MTSU and that it his “intent to get him (Korn) into every game this year”.

Parker redshirted last year and has never played a down of college football.  Because of an early enrollment in January, 2008 Parker has two seasons of baseball behind him at the collegiate level.

Korn has played in 8 games over two years at Clemson, including one start, but has been beset by injuries and mechanical problems those two years.  Korn is a redshirt sophomore and Parker is a redshirt Freshman.

Swinney also announced he intends to redshirt true freshman quarterback Tajh Boyd, who is quickly becoming the next heir apparent at the position.
